For this week’s “Local Song of the Week,” we spotlight Pittsburgh’s Dream Home, the latest band endeavor of former Blair Countian and Lampshades frontman Jaren Love! “Carpeted” was the first single issued from Dream Home’s self-titled debut album, which was released in March. As The Lampshades were known to do from time to time, Dream Home also likes to explore elements of 1960s psychedelia in their music. This song has a bit of a later 60s Beatles’ feel, and the video – showing the crazy antics of frontman Jaren and his Dream Home bandmates Joe Praksti and Sam Winward – also recalls some of the filmed antics of the Beatles. And given the hot and steamy weather experienced in central PA in recent days, this video footage of Dream Home playing in the snow might help cool you off!
