A woman from Mapleton Depot was arrested after an incident in which an infant is said to have ingested drugs… including fentanyl. 26 year old Bethany Witters is facing felony charges including endangering the welfare of children, aggravated assault and drug possession, after state police say a 1-year-old child was taken to Penn Highlands Hospital in Huntingdon, for a possible drug overdose. The toddler was then flown to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. The investigation resulted in a search warrant being issued for Witters’ residence, where police found a large quantity of suspected heroin. Witters is now being held behind bars in the Huntingdon County Prison under a cash bail of $500,000.
