AUTHORITIES ARE INVESTIGATING A FIRE IN ALTOONA THAT LEFT ONE WOMAN DEAD.
ACCORDING TO TELEVISION NEWS REPORTS, 60 YEAR OLD PENNY HATCH WAS KILLED IN A HOUSE FIRE THAT BROKE OUT FRIDAY EVENING. FIREFIGHTERS ARRIVED ON THE SCENE QUICLKY AT 2nd AVENUE AND 5th STREET. THE NEWS REPORTS ALSO STATED THAT 2 FIREFIGHTERS WERE INJURED AND WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT. CORONER PATTY ROSS SAYS THAT SHE DOES NOT HAVE A CAUSE OF DEATH FOR MS. HATCH, AND WILL HAVE THAT INFORMATION FOLLOWING AN AUTOPSY. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE IS ALSO UNDER INVESTIGATION. THE INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE APPARENTLY COLLAPSED WHILE FIERFIGHTERS FOUGHT THE FLAMES.
