THE BLAIR COUNTY D.A. AND ITS PRESIDENT JUDGE HAVE A DIFFERNECE OF OPINION ON THE ISSUE OF SECURITY.

NEWS REPORTS INDICATED THAT PRESIDENT JUDGE ELIZABETH DOYLE REACTED TO REMARKS MADE BY D.A. PETE WEEKS LAST WEEK FOLLOWING THE DEATH OF CORRECTIONS OFFICER RHONDA RUSSELL. WEEKS TOLD WJAC TV THAT HE FELT THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH SECURITY IN THOSE FACILITES, BUT JUDGE DOYLE DISAGREED AND STATED LAST WEEK THAT ANYTIME A DISTRICT JUDGE FELT THE NEED FOR EXTRA SECURITY IT WAS PROVIDED. THE MATTER WAS BROUGHT UP AT THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING LAST WEEK, AND THEY SAY THEY WILL LOOK INTO THE ISSUE. WEEKS SAID THAT HE STANDS BY HIS ORIGINAL COMMENTS, AND HIS REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL SECURITY REMAINS FIRM.
