For this week’s “Local Song of the Week,” we feature the first single released from The Semi-Supervillains’ brand new album, “Play That Rock’n’Roll,” which was issued on January 14. Leading off the album, “Joyride” delivers a rocking joyride as singer and guitarist Vinnie Longhi and the group explore their rock’n’roll roots, especially tapping into flavors of 1970s rock, blues and arena rock. The Semi-Supervillains first emerged from the Weirton, West Virginia-Pittsburgh area in 2010. Vinnie is now based in the Nashville area, after calling Hollidaysburg his home base for a couple of years. During that time, he brought The Semi-Supervillains to perform a show at the U.S. Hotel in February, 2019. This song is a fun rock’n’roll joyride, and we hope you enjoy it!
