GOV WOLF HAS ONCE AGAIN VOWED TO RAISE PA’S MINIMUM WAGE BEFORE HE LEAVES OFFICE.

IN A REPORT FROM HARRISBURG, THE GOVERNOR STATED HE WANTS TO PUSH THE WAGE TO $15/HOUR, AND THAT HE WANTS TO DO IT BY THE END OF THE MONTH. WOLF SAID THAT THE HIGHER MINIMUM WAGE WOULD GIVE WORKING PENNSYLVANIANS A HIGHER STANDARD OF LIVING, INSTEAD OF THE $7.25 CURRENT WAGE. THE REPORT SAYS THAT 21 OTHER STATES RAISED THEIR MINIMUM WAGE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR, WITH SEVERAL OTHER SLATED TO RAISE THIERS LATER IN 2022. THE $12/HOUR FIGURE WOULD HELP SOME 13% OF PA WORKERS ACCORDING TO WOLF. HE EVENTUALLY WANTS THE WAGE RAISED TO $15/HOUR.
