Fifteen fire and emergency medical services companies in the 71st Legislative District were awarded more than $250,000 in funding support through the 2021-22 Pennsylvania Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service Grant Program, according to state Rep. Jim Rigby (R-Johnstown). Rigby added, “These awards are applied for, and I applaud our hard-working, dedicated emergency responders for achieving success in the grant process, which doesn’t always happen.” Among those who received a grant were the city of Johnstown Fire Department in the amount of $15-thousand dollars. The ongoing funding program was created by the General Assembly.
