THE ALTOONA MIRROR REPORTS THAT THE AUTHORITY IS LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO TAKE THE FORMER McCRORY BUILDING PROJECT THAT WAS RECENTLY SETTLED. THE BUILDING HAS SAT IDLE FOR MANY YEARS, AND HAS SUFFERED EXTENSIVE INTERNAL DAMAGE, AS WELL AS DAMAGE TO ITS ROOF. REQUESTS FOR PROPOSALS ARE NOW BEING SOUGHT, WITH A FINAL DATE OF APRIL 19th LISTED FOR SUBMISSION. THE AUTHORITY HOPES TO SELECT A DEVELOPER BY MAY 20th. IT WANTS TO HAVE A DEFINITIVE PLAN FOR THE BUILDING BEFORE ANY WORK BEGINS ON RESTORING THE BUILDING. THE CITY SETTLED WITH THE FORMER OWNER ON A FINAL SELLING PRICE EARLIER THIS YEAR.
