YESTERDAY THE ASSOCIATED PRESS REPORTED THAT THE U.S. SUPREME COURT RULED THAT IT WILL NOT REVIEW COSBY’S CASE, WHERE HE WAS SET FREE AFTER SERVING TIME FOR DRUGGING AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTING A WOMAN IN HIS PHILADELPHIA HOME. THE HIGH COURT RULED WITHOUT COMMENT THAT THE FORMER PROSECUTOR IN THE CASE DID MAKE A DEAL THAT COSBY WOULD NOT BE CHAGRED DURING THE INITIAL INVESTIGATION. COSBY’S LAWYERS ARGUED THAT THE DEAL WAS MADE IN PRIVATE, BUT PROSECUTOR BRUCE CASTOR ADMITTED THAT HE DID TELL COSBY WHEN IT CAME UP IN A SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATION. THE VICTIM IN THIS PARTICULAR CASE, TOLD THE AP THAT THIS DECISION WAS UNFORTUNATE AND A SETBACK FOR ALL VICTIMS OF SEXUAL ABUSE. THE CURRENT D.A. HANDLING THIS CASE, SAID THAT IT IS A SHAME THAT A WEALTHY PERSON CAN BUY HIS WAY OUT OF A CRIMINAL CASE.
