IN A TELEVISION NEWS REPORT BY WJAC, GOV WOLF ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY THAT HE PLANS TO BE READY TO TAKE IN HUNDREDS OF REFUGEES FROM THE NOW WAR TORN NATION OF UKRAINE. THE REPORT SAYS THAT THERE IS A BILL THAT WILL PROVIDE $2 MILLION TO HELP POTENTIAL REFUGEES SETTLE IN PA. HOWEVER, A SIMILAR IDEA LAST YEAR IN CAMBRIA COUNTY MET STIFF PUBLIC OPPOSITION. CITIZENS IN JOHNSTOWN SPOKE OUT LOUDLY AGAINST A SIMILAR PROPOSAL THAT WOULD HAVE BROUGHT 100 AFGHANISTAN REFUGEES INTO THE CITY. POLITICIANS SAID THAT THE CITIZENS OF PA WHILE SYMPATHETIC, CANNOT AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SHOULDER THE FINANCIAL BURDEN TO BRING REFUGEES INTO THE STATE.
