A report by Capitolwire in Harrisburg suggests that a bill has passed that would eliminate house and senate members from using a state provided vehicle. The measure passed 183-16 in the house and now goes to the senate. The report indicated that only 26 members of the house still use state provided vehicles, while others use their own vehicles and get reimbursements for their mileage. The bill also allows members with these vehicles to keep them until they would have been changed out for new ones. It will also prevent new members of the legislature from getting a vehicle. Lawmakers now have the ability to work remotely and virtually, which cuts down on the number of miles they can accumulate traveling back and forth to Harrisburg.
