WTAJ reported that police arrested 37 year old Amber DeLeo of Altoona when she was caught behind the counter of Fe Fi’s grocery on 6th avenue on Tuesday. Police reported that they were called to the building after DeLeo was discovered trying to take cigarettes from behind the counter. A police officer was already out back of the building and walked in after receiving the call. DeLeo was caught with 3 cans of soda, yogurt and $4 worth of chicken along with a package of chocolate chip cookie dough. She told police that she had permission from the sheriff or constable to bed behind the counter. The report stated that DeLeo had previous shoplifting guilty pleas on her record. A hearing is scheduled for may 4th.
