News reports indicate that several rescue groups were called out to the river along East Loop road and Allis Lane in Frankstown Twp for the rescue. Two adults, two teens and a toddler became stuck on the water by debris. Officials say that the water was running swiftly, but was not deep enough to handle rescue boats. Also, the five who had to be rescued were not wearing personal flotation jackets. The Geeseytown Fire Co along with Williamsburg, Nanty Glo fire companies and Cambria County EMA teams from Jackson Twp and Portage Fire Dept and Hollidaysburg Ambulance were all on scene to help. There were no injuries.
