WTAJ reports that authorities at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport caught the man trying to board a plane with a loaded 9mm handgun. The unidentified man told TSA personnel that the gun belonged to his wife who was with him. The couple was prevented from boarding the aircraft. The weapon was detected by the checkpoint x-ray machine. The TSA says that last year it confiscated nearly 6000 weapons inside carry on luggage. So far this year, 86% of weapons confiscated have been loaded. No word on charges.
