Monday, Oct 31: The Spotted Lanternfly is in the Blair County area. Learn how to stop this invader plant hopper and identify the stages of life from egg mass to adult. Hear the most up to date information and research on this invasive pest invading Pennsylvania and surrounding states. Program free to the public. Each program is open to the public and registration for the programs can be completed online at extension.psu.edu or call 1-877-345-0691. A small fee is assessed for the first three programs. Walk-ins will be accepted. The Altoona Symphony Orchestra’s 94th season continues 7:30, Saturday evening March 18th at the Mishler Theatre in downtown Altoona with “Shakespeare's Passion.” With Guest Conductor Benjamin Firer. Selections are Mendelssohn’s “A Midsummer Night's Dream Overture” David Diamond’s “Romeo & Juliet,” and Korngold's “Much Ado About Nothing.” The Symphony’s principal clarinetist, Anthony Poehailos will be featured on Rossini’s “Introduction, Theme and Variations.”
