Here are pictures from Saturday (July 30), the second night of the July edition of the PA Roundhouse Rally Summer Series 2022 at Roundhouse Harley-Davidson near Duncansville.
This day featured something for everyone! For the classic car enthusiast, a Cruise In presented by Mel’s Car Shows brought lots of classic car beauties to the Roundhouse Rally grounds, as well as a lots of classic car fans to look over and enjoy the machines.
Saturday’s music got under way with acoustic duo Lauren & Joe, filling in after the originally-scheduled acoustic act had to bow out due to illness. The wife-and-husband pair of Lauren and Joe George warmed up arriving visitors with their wide variety of rock, pop, folk and country numbers, including music from John Mellencamp, George Michael, John Prine, the Spin Doctors, Doobie Brothers, Amy Winehouse, CCR, Miranda Lambert, Black Crowes, Pat Benatar, Jethro Tull, Elle King, Jefferson Airplane, Chris Stapleton, Hall & Oates and more.
Altoona’s Jack Squat then brought the rock to the stage with their mix of hard-hitting classics from the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Singers and guitarists Scott Imler and Ron Dalansky, bassist Todd Batzel and drummer Dan McConnell fired folks up with tunes from Scorpions, Tesla, Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, Judas Priest, AC/DC, Cinderella, Nazareth, Jackyl, Billy Squier, Def Leppard, Krokus, Dokken and others. Jack Squat triggered some dancing, and set the table for the night’s headliner.
The headliners, That Arena Rock Show, then took the crowd on a high-energy journey through 1970s and 80s arena rock and metal. Five members strong, this group portrayed some 17 different bands and artists of the arena rock era; providing nonstop music, frequent costume changes, unexpected TV and movie characters appearing on stage (such as Wayne & Garth from “Wayne’s World,” Beavis & Butthead and a cleaning lady) and more. Opening with Motley Crue’s “Kickstart My Heart,” That Arena Rock Show fired through classics from Poison, Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, Quiet Riot, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Cinderella, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, Twisted Sister, Van Halen, Queen, Def Leppard, Guns N’Roses, and for the finale, KISS’s legendary “Rock and Roll All Night.” The group’s musicianship was powerful and tight, and their singer’s vocal howl and range capably handled all of the vocal styles that the setlist demanded. This group delivered an exciting spectacle of high-powered rock, and the Roundhouse crowd didn’t want this party to end!
Shelter animals were again served by the Roundhouse Rally this day, as the Horseshoe Curve Harley Owners Group Chapter did a ride earlier in the day to raise money for the Central PA Humane Society, and monies were also raised this weekend for Mending Hearts Animal Rescue. Again, the PA Roundhouse Rally is a 501c3 organization that helps out local charities with the summer weekend concert series. Thanks once again to all the folks who came out and took part in the fun!
