Here are pictures from Saturday (Sept. 3), the second night of the September edition of the PA Roundhouse Rally Summer Series 2022 at Roundhouse Harley-Davidson near Duncansville.
The Saturday Roundhouse Rally featured more musical fun, more hourly shows with the American Motor Drome Co.’s Wall Of Death thrill show, and at the very end, the drawing for the winner of the Kawasaki Teryx 4 side-by-side out of all the entries submitted during the course of this summer’s Roundhouse Rally events.
The music got under way early in the afternoon with Rodeo Radio, the country-rock project and alter ego of area musician Rogan Allen. Singing and playing acoustic guitar, Rogan did tunes from Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Bruce Springsteen, America, Eagles, Classics IV, Marvin Gaye, Van Morrison, Glen Campbell, Marshall Tucker Band, Chris Stapleton and many more. Rogan sounded good on both the guitar and voice, and helped ease the arriving visitors into the festive mood of the afternoon.
After Rogan, Johnstown’s Octane stepped up the energy level with their performance of full-force, high-octane rock. Singer Mike Prebehalla, lead guitarist Kenny Murdick, rhythm guitarist Ian Kordish-Murdick (Kenny’s stepson), bassist Dave Bambino and drummer Chris Jimerson fired up the Roundhouse crowd with tunes from Skid Row, Volbeat, Alice In Chains, Guns N’Roses, Journey, Rolling Stones, Gin Blossoms, The Killers, The Offspring, White Zombie, Accept, Linkin Park, Candlelight Red, Disturbed and others; along with Van Halen, AC/DC and Metallica medleys and more. Octane’s execution was tight and powerful, and Mike showed excellent vocal range through it all. By the end of their performance, Octane had the Roundhouse grounds rocking, and the crowd ready for the exciting nighttime finale.
New York-based Aerosmith tribute Last Child capped the night with their celebration of the “Bad Boys of Boston,” playing hits and classics from throughout Aerosmith’s career. Singer Bobby Mann as Steven Tyler, guitarist Mike Gallello as Joe Perry, guitarist Scott Bittner as Brad Whitford, bassist Mick James as Tom Hamilton and drummer Tommy Frustieri as Joey Kramer convincingly delivered the Aerosmith classics – including “Back in the Saddle,” “Toys in the Attic,” “Dude Looks Like a Lady,” “Mama Kin,” “Sweet Emotion,” “Love in an Elevator,” “Same Old Song and Dance,” “Livin’ on the Edge,” “What It Takes,” “Walkin’ the Dog,” “Walk This Way,” “Same Old Song and Dance,” the group’s title tune “Last Child,” “No More No More,” “Draw the Line” and many more, keeping the huge Roundhouse crowd dancing and grooving. Some of the highlights included Tommy’s drum solo leading into “Rag Doll,” Bobby’s harmonica intro leading into “Big Ten Inch Record,” and Bobby singing and playing keys on “Dream On” to finish the night. Last Child sounded strong through it all, and kept the Roundhouse crowd riveted for the duration of their performance.
With the crowd at a level of peak energy and anticipation, the PA Roundhouse Rally closed its 2022 summer season with the moment everybody had been waiting for – the drawing for the Kawasaki Teryx 4 side-by-side. The name pulled from the cylinder was Jen Rusich of Hollidaysburg!
Pictured are all three musical acts, bikes, vendors, the crowd and dancers, the Q-crew of the “Professor,” Jim Price and technical director Bob Taylor savoring pizza, and winner Jen Rusich with her new side-by-side!
Thanks again to everybody who attended the PA Roundhouse Rally throughout the summer, all the bands and entertainers, the bar staffs (including the Gin Gypsies this weekend and the International Bikini Team during the May and June rallies), the food and other vendors, the volunteers, everyone at Roundhouse Harley-Davidson, and Deb and the organizers for presenting these fun events throughout the summer!
